Councilmember Espinoza: <br /> <br />- asked that a letter be sent to the Santa Ana Unified School District <br /> commending the District on its adoption of student and teacher dress <br /> code policies; and <br /> <br />- opined that graffiti incidents escalate during weekends and reiterated his <br /> suggestion that the City's graffiti contractor be encouraged to provide <br /> weekend service. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tern Richardson: <br /> <br />congratulated the Willard Intermediate School parents group, noting 69th <br />District State Assemblymember Jim Morrissey's participation, on its volunteer <br />neighborhood clean-up on July 19, 1997; <br /> <br />asked the Public Works Agency to survey the Willard Neighborhood for <br />possible improvements, such as repair of broken curbs, that could be included <br />in other project bid solicitations; and <br /> <br />- noted the Heninger Park Special District design standards were still in process <br /> and requested a status report from staff <br /> <br />Councilmember McGuigan: <br /> <br />- reported the Floral Park concert on July 19 had been very successful and <br /> enjoyable; and <br /> <br />- noted the Santora Building would celebrate its 2nd anniversary as an arts <br /> attraction on July 26, 1997. <br /> <br />Councilmember Lutz: <br /> <br />indicated the major reception at the Santora Building arts celebration <br />would be held at 10:00 p.m. and asked Community Development Agency <br />Executive Director Cindy Nelson to provide the Council with a list of the <br />evening's events; <br /> <br />reported a coalition of residents, the Assistance League, Recreation and <br />Community Services, and Police Department were continuing to work on <br />improvements in the Flower Park area and suggested interested persons <br />call City Hall to volunteer for a neighborhood work day in October, <br />particularly those with skills to set forms for concrete work; and <br /> <br />- reported a proliferation of illegal signs on Bristol between Warner and Civic <br /> Center Drive. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 221 JULY 21, 1997 <br /> <br /> <br />
