• Newsletter #2 <br />Format: 17 x 11, folded to 8.5 x 11 <br />Quantity: 55,000 <br />Mailing Date: May 14 <br />• Newsletter #3 <br />Format: 17 x 11, folded to 8.5 x 11 <br />Quantity: 55,000 <br />Mailing Date: May 28 <br />These three newsletters will outline the proposed Safety Lighting, Graffiti Removal, Street <br />Repair, and Park and Median Maintenance District, the Proposition 218 balloting process and <br />Santa Ana's difficult budget choices. Most important, they will introduce the Special District <br />concept and explain how it could work in Santa Ana. The third newsletter will be sent a few <br />days after the ballots are mailed and will emphasize instructions on how to cast a mail ballot. <br />These newsletters will be mailed only to property owners from the assessor's file. An <br />additional 15,000 of the first newsletter will be produced for general distribution. <br />Additional Printed Materials <br />• Questions and Answers Brochure <br />Format: 8.5 x 11, folded to 4.25 x 11 <br />Quantity: 70,000 <br />This brochure outlining the Proposition 218 election process will be included in the ballot <br />packages. An additional 15,000 brochures will be produced for general distribution. <br />Spanish Language Outreach <br />All printed materials will contain a Spanish - language element providing a synopsis of the entire <br />piece and providing a City Hall phone number that can be called to request additional Spanish - <br />language information. APA will prepare a Spanish language fact sheet to be distributed to these <br />individuals. <br />Internet <br />APA will provide all printed materials in .pdf format so they can be posted on the City website. <br />Media Relations <br />APA will collaborate with City communications staff regarding responses to media inquiries about <br />the assessment district and the election. APA will help prepare City staff selected to meet with <br />newspaper editorial boards and attend such meetings as appropriate. <br />Ballot Package <br />APA will work with Berryman & Henigar and the City Attorney to produce the ballot package to be <br />mailed to all Santa Ana property owners. The ballot package will include: a cover letter describing <br />the contents, the Notice of Public Hearing, the "Questions and Answers" brochure, ballot and return <br />envelope. A second version of the ballot package with both English and Spanish Language <br />Pace 2 of 3 <br />
