He perceived this <br />to be a violation of Charter Sec. 1010 b) that prohibits officers and employees of the City from <br />engaging in political activities. Moreno indicated be bad filed a complaiat regarding this matter <br />with the District Attorney, City Attorney, and the Fair Political Practices Commission. He also <br />opined the Mayor had violated State law since the Mayor bad signed the report twice, as <br />"officeholder" and on behalf of his treasurer. <br /> <br />The Clerk of the Council pointed out that under the Charter, the City Council appoints a "clerk of <br />the council" who serves at the pleasure of the City Council. <br /> <br />Mayor Pulido acknowledged the Clerk had assisted him in preparing the campaign report and <br />opined an investigation of the matter would show he had done nothing illegal. <br /> <br />RECESSED TO COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY FOLLOWED <br />IMMEDIATELY BY THE HOUSING AUTHORITY - 7:35 P.M. <br /> <br />RECONVENED - 7:39 P.M. - All Councilmembers present <br /> <br />90.A. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />John Wesson reported ongoing problems with Comcast Cablevision regarding the company's <br />failure to replace equipment covers, and receipt of a City brochure indicating Harbor Boulevard <br />construction was completed when in reality the job was not finished. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 65 MARCH 2, 1998 <br /> <br /> <br />
