PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Ed McKie reported ongoing problems with traffic safety in his neighborhood and asked tile <br />Council to direct the Police Department to increase traffic enforcement. He also reqnested <br />increased code enforcement against vendor trucks and reported a problem with street lights on <br />Bush Street. <br /> <br />Desi Reyes opined City Hall was not focusing on the "right" issues and requested the Council <br />make street enhancements its first budget priority and provide recreation centers for kids without <br />increasing fees. He indicated he was part ora group, "Citizens for a Better Santa Ana," that was <br />hand-delivering a newsletter to 38,000 homes m~,iculating the group's concerns about the City. <br /> <br />Suszan Ales commented that she favored televised Council ineetings since they enabled better <br />monitoring of City expenditures and requested all Council meetings including study sessions be <br />televised. <br /> <br />Ron Heike complimented the Council on its performance, encouraged the Council to stay focused <br />at Council meetings, and stated Councihnember Moreno's constituents appreciate his asking the <br />"right" questions. <br /> <br />Sean Mill opined that tile current Council majority showed a lack of respect for Councihnember <br />Moreno, particularly Councihnember Franklin, and indicated such behavior was inappropriate. <br /> <br />Jim O'Connor expressed concerns regarding the deteriorated condition of city streets and <br />suggested tile Council not spend money on the Artists Village. <br /> <br />Mike Estrada opined Councilmember Franklin's allegations against Councihnember Moreno were <br />"politics," and characterized the Clerk of the Council's request for a Police escort for her and her <br />staff'after Council meetings as a smear against Councilmember Moreno. <br /> <br />Paul Le reported continuing problems with the Planning Department <br /> <br />Leslie Mitchell in£ormed the Council she planned to expand Kids Cottage Child Care at 2224 <br />Santa Clara Avenue and requested tile Council support her project <br /> <br />Tim Rush suggested Councilmember Moreno's behavior at Council meetings was inappropriate <br />and provided him with "Robert's Rules of Order" and "Miss Manners Guide to Excruciatingly <br />Correct Behavior." <br /> <br />Marlene Mooney demonstrated "Riverview West" tee-shirts and challenged the Councilmembers <br />to purchase them.
