<br />ARTICLE IX <br />9.0 VACATION <br />9.1 Puroose. It is the policy of the City to grant employees vacation leave in order to <br />provide them with a break in their regular work schedule and this purpose will be <br />used as a guide in the administration of the provisions of this Article. <br />9.2 Reaular Vacation Period. <br />A. Regular vacation with pay is granted to each full-time permanent or <br />probationary employee, at the rate of fifteen (15) working days for each <br />completed year of service, accrued at the rate of ten (10) working hours for <br />each completed month of service. <br />B. An employee who has completed less than one year's service during the <br />calendar year shall receive a proportionate fraction in accordance with the <br />amount of service to his or her credit during the year; provided, however, no <br />employee shall be entitled to, or receive payment for, any vacation until he <br />or she has completed six (6) months of continuous service. <br />C. On or after the first (1st) day of the month following completion of six (6) <br />months of continuous full-time service, an employee may be allowed to take <br />all or a proportionate fraction of his or her earned vacation, subject to <br />scheduling approval of the employee's supervisor. <br />D. Vacation time off may be taken in increments as small as one-half (1/2) hour, <br />with fractional usage rounded upward to the next higher multiple of one-half <br />(1/2). <br /> <br />-33- <br />
