required and the requisite final sets shall be submitted to the ENGINEER 15 <br />days prior to startup of systems. The ENGINEER will distribute the copies. <br />2. In addition to updated shop drawing information reflecting actual existing <br />conditions, each set of technical manuals shall include installation, connection, <br />operating, calibration, adjustment, test, troubleshooting, maintenance and <br />overhaul instructions in complete detail. This shall provide the CITY with <br />comprehensive information on all systems and components to enable operation, <br />service, maintenance and repair. Exploded or other detailed views of all <br />instruments, assemblies and accessory components shall be included together <br />with complete parts lists and ordering instructions. <br />3. Operational Manual: A simplified version of the standard manufacturers, <br />software and system operations manual shall be prepared for this project. This <br />manual shall provide basic instructions in the application of the system as <br />required for dispatchers and operators in day to day operations. It shall include <br />instructions on display navigation, system startup, and control capabilities. Every <br />program that will be executing on the system shall be included with descriptions <br />of normal operations and initial troubleshooting techniques and tools. <br />4. The CONTRACTOR shall provide the ENGINEER a set of site plans reflecting <br />the actual installation of the electrical and instrumentation conduits; especially <br />the underground installation, including the number, size and type of conductors <br />in each conduit. <br />5. The CONTRACTOR shall furnish one manual (or manual set) devoted <br />exclusively to the SMS software. In addition to the information required under <br />the specification sections and articles entitled "Contractor Submittals," this <br />manual shall include complete documentation of the software programs <br />provided, including listings, database (hard copy and floppy disk), source code, <br />communication protocol(s), etc., all as necessary to maintain, troubleshoot, <br />modify, or update the software system. A total of three (3) copies of the manual <br />shall be provided: two (2) for the CITY and one (1) for the ENGINEER. <br />1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. Factory Tests: Prior to shipment, the complete computer -based SMS System <br />including all peripherals, communications equipment (WAN to be provided by the <br />CITY), shall be assembled, connected, and all software loaded for a full functional <br />test of the integrated system. These procedures shall be developed and submitted <br />by the SMS Supplier to show that the integrated system hardware and software is <br />fully operational and in compliance with the requirements of the Contract Documents. <br />A copy of the test procedures shall be submitted to the ENGINEER at least two <br />weeks before the scheduled test date. The CITY and ENGINEER representatives <br />will witness the factory test. <br />B. Installation Supervision: The SMS Supplier shall furnish services and technical <br />information as necessary to ensure that the SMS equipment is installed in a proper <br />and satisfactory manner.
