COMMENTS <br /> <br />90.B. COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Moreno: <br />· reported a pothole in the area of Santa Ana and Baker Streets; <br />· urged the audience to contact him at 836-0334, 647-5234, or 802-4103 regarding <br /> any needed infrastructure repairs; and <br />· expressed the appreciation of his neighborhood to Public Works Agency Executive <br /> Director Jim Ross and staff for completing the 4th Street rehabilitation project. <br /> <br />Councilmember Bist congratulated Councilmember Moreno on the birth of his son and <br />thanked Community Preservation Manager Bruce Dunams for taking her on a Code <br />Enforcement "ride-along." <br /> <br />Councilmember Lutz: <br />· commented on the successful openings on February 28 of the "Zoofari" Train, the <br /> longest 15 gauge railroad in the United States, and the Grand Central Arts Building, <br /> a joint venture of Cai State Fullerton and the City in the Artists Village in downtown <br /> Santa Aha; <br />· reported Parks and Recreation Board Members Kendrick, Brown and Whitaker had <br /> successfully solicited the donation of a "Dragon Slide" for the Santa Aha Zoo from <br /> Game Time at the recent California Parks and Recreation Conference; <br />· asked that the Council meeting be adjourned in honor of Ethel Coffman, a 103-year- <br /> old resident and community activist in Santa Aha who had recently passed away; <br />· wished Orange County Reqister reporter Angelita Moraga good luck with her <br /> relocation to the Chicago area. <br /> <br />Councilmember McGuiqan: <br />· echoed Councilmember Lutz' sentiments regarding the weekend events; <br />· commended the Mayor on the recent article featuring him and his family in the <br /> Orange County Business Journal; and <br />· asked that the Council meeting also be adjourned in honor of Anaheim Police Chief <br /> Randall Gaston who died recently and condolences expressed to his family. <br /> <br />Councilmember Christy: <br />· reported on her extensive ambassadorship on the City's behalf during Black History <br /> month and presented plaques expressing appreciation to the City from the Mission <br /> with Benevolence Foundation and the NAACP Orange County Chapter to the <br /> Mayor; <br />· expressed appreciation to Chuck Mosely, Wayne Snyder, Recreation and <br /> Community Services Executive Director Cleve Williams, and Police Chief Walters for <br /> outstanding assistance with the Black History Parade; <br />· congratulated the Santa Ana Police Officers Association on its 50th anniversary and <br /> Mark Nichols, the Association's new president; <br />· conveyed the 2® Baptist's Church's appreciation to the City for recognizing the <br /> ground breaking of its new sanctuary and church facilities; <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> <br />72 MARCH 1, 1999 <br /> <br /> <br />
