COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Moreno <br />· reported rough pavement and uneven sidewalks on Cabrillo Park Drive; <br />· requested staff evaluate damage caused by large magnolia trees along 4th Street; <br />· asked for intensified graffiti removal efforts along the railroad tracks in the 4th and Grand <br /> Streets area; <br />· suggested additional parking be removed near the jog at Raitt and McFadden Streets; <br /> and <br />· requested an independent audit be made of the Bowers Museum's financial condition <br /> and Museum staff be encouraged to cooperate with the press regarding release of <br /> information. <br /> <br />CQuncilmember Bist <br />· provided details regarding two successful community events she recently attended <br /> -- a "summit" meeting at Willard Intermediate School and the Minnie Street "Sabado de <br /> Gloria" Fair; and <br />· reported the Santa Aha High School wrestling team had sent three wrestlers to the <br /> national competition and asked that Josh Leon who had placed first be recognized at <br /> a future Council meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Lutz <br />· noted DGWB would soon relocate from Irvine to old City Hall and congratulated the firm <br /> on its recent receipt of 14 "Addy" awards for excellence in advertising; and <br />· thanked Fire Station 5 firefighters who had assisted with restringing the wind-damaged <br /> lanyard atop the Spurgeon clock tower so that the Flag might be flown once again. <br /> <br />Councilmember Christy <br />· reported her attendance on behalf of the City at the following events: Santa Ana "Treasure" Sarah Shaw's 80th birthday on March 20; <br /> Jewish-Latino Seder/Passover that presented a unique opportunity for the two <br /> communities to come together on March 25; <br /> Little League season openings for the Valley and Gary Templeton Leagues on <br /> March 27; <br /> Santa Ana Chamber Breakfast with Councilmembers Bist and McGuigan April 1 <br /> where she and Councilmember Bist commented on their "First 90 Days" on the <br /> City Council; <br /> Folklorico Xcaret, a Noche Mexicana concert, at Santa Ana High School on March <br /> 27; and <br /> Minnie Street "Sabado de Gloria" Fair on April 3; and <br />· challenged the neighborhood associations to demonstrate support for the Little <br /> Leagues by attending the games, particularly those of the Gary Templeton League <br /> whose team numbers have declined. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 108 APRIL 5, 1999 <br /> <br /> <br />
