COUNCIL AGENDA ITEM <br /> <br /> MOTION: Moreno <br />Motion died for lack of Second. <br /> <br />85.B. <br /> <br />REMOVAL OF PARKING ON FOURTH STREET BETVVEEN FRENCH AND <br />POINSETTIA (MORENO) <br /> <br />Dennis Mitosinka presented a petition opposing the removal of on-street parking on <br />Fourth Street, and he and Bert Mendez expressed concern regarding potential <br />negative impacts to businesses if parking were removed. <br /> <br />Public Works Agency Executive Director Jim Ross explained that staff had <br />recommended street parking be retained between Mortimer and Garfield Streets <br />and removed between Garfield and Grand Avenue. <br /> <br />Councilmembers discussed peripheral issues to parking such as the number of bars <br />on Fourth Street, crime level, and possible permit parking during evening hours. <br /> <br />Councilmember Moreno requested the item be continued until a full Council was <br />present and asked staff to survey adjacent side streets for total parking spaces. <br /> <br />Motion: Continue discussion of removal of parking on Fourth Street to the <br /> September 7, 1999 City Council meeting. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br /> AYES: <br /> NOES: <br /> <br /> ABSENT: <br /> <br />Moreno SECOND: Bist <br /> <br /> Bist, Christy, Franklin, McGuigan, Moreno <br /> None <br /> <br /> Lutz, Pulido <br /> <br />COMMENTS <br /> <br />90.A.
