<br />JS 2/5/07) <br /> <br />ORDINANCE <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AMENDING SECTION 2-451 <br />OF THE SANTA ANA MUNICPAL CODE <br />MODIFYING THE REQUIREMENTS OF <br />MEMBERSHIP ON THE YOUTH COMMISSION <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, <br />determines and declares as follows: <br /> <br />A. The City Council believes it is important that the Youth Commission <br />members represent a broad cross-section of the youth population of <br />the City. The Council also desires to increase the experience level of <br />the members and to foster greater continuity of membership on the <br />Commission. <br /> <br />B. In order to accomplish the above stated goals, the Council desires to <br />amend section 2-451 of the Municipal Code to expand the age limit of <br />members of the Commission to 21 years of age and adjust the age <br />limit of the associate members in a like fashion. The Council also <br />desires to add a 4 year term limit to Commission membership. <br /> <br />C. All provisions of the Santa Ana Municipal Code which are repeated <br />herein are repeated solely in order to comply with the provisions of <br />section 418 of the Charter of the City of Santa Ana. Any such <br />restatement of existing provisions of the Code is not intended, nor shall <br />it be interpreted, as constituting a new action or decision of the City <br />Council, but rather such provisions are repeated for tracking purposes <br />only in conformance with the Charter. <br /> <br />Section 2. Section 2-451 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended <br />to increase the age limits for membership and add a term limit for members such that it <br />reads as follows (new language in bold, deleted language in strikeout for tracking purposes <br />only): <br /> <br />50A-2 <br /> <br />Ordinance No. NS-XXX <br />Page 1 of _ <br />
