377 <br />2000-2002 CITY COUNCIL COMMENCEMENT <br />CALLED TO ORDER <br />6:40 P.M. <br />ROLL CALL COUNCILMEMBERS present: <br />MIGUEL A. PULIDO, Mayor <br />CLAUDIA C. ALVAREZ <br />LISA BIST <br />ALBERTA D. CHRISTY <br />BRETT FRANKLIN <br />PATRICIA A. McGUIGAN <br />JOSE SOLORIO <br />ELECTION OF MAYOR PRO TEM <br />The Mayor called for nominations for the position of Mayor Pro Tem. <br />Councilmember Franklin nominated Councilmember McGuigan. <br />Hearing no other nominations, the Mayor closed the nominations and <br />called for a vote. <br />Motion: Elect Councilmember McGuigan to the position of Mayor Pro Tem <br />MOTION: Franklin SECOND: Christy <br />VOTE: AYES: Alvarez, Bist, Christy, Franklin, McGuigan, Solorio, <br />Pulido (7) <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />Mayor Pulido declared Councilmember McGuigan unanimously elected Mayor Pro Tem. <br />Mayor Pulido thanked the community for its efforts in making Santa Ana a better City, <br />and expressed optimism for the City's future under the leadership of the new Council. <br />Councilmember Solorio commented that it was an honor to serve the City as a Planning <br />Commissioner for three and one half years and that he was looking forward to an <br />effective and productive four years on the City Council.
