COMMENTS <br /> <br />Reminded the public that the movie theatres at Main Place have <br />reopened under new management. She further encouraged the <br />community to patronize these theatres, since they will soon be the <br />last theatres in Santa Ana where first run movies are shown <br />Asked Council to adjourn in memory of Gertrude Walker, a long <br />time Santa Ana resident. <br /> <br />Councilmember Solorio <br />· Complimented the Empowerment Zone staff and Board for <br /> obtaining additional funds in the amount of $7.3 million, for a total <br /> of $12.3 million in third year funding <br />· Asked the City Manager to give a status report on the negotiations <br /> with the City of Tustin relative to the Tustin Air Base and asked that <br /> the City continue its support of the school district in obtaining <br /> sufficient land for schools <br />· Congratulated Rueben Martinez on the Grand Opening of the new <br /> children's bookstore, Libreria Para Nitios <br /> <br />Councilmember Franklin <br />· Suggested that staff look at a name to use in developing a new <br /> telephone number for the animal shelter so that it will be easy to <br /> identify and remember <br />· Reminded the public that the next Floral Park Home Tour will take <br /> place on April 28 and 29, 2001 <br />· Noted that a resident requested that the graffiti removal crews use <br /> paints that match <br />· Noted that on this date the City Council approved an item <br /> expanding the maintenance agreement at the Train Depot <br />· Commented that he supported efforts to encourage residents to <br /> patronize the remaining theatres in Santa Ana, as well as all <br /> businesses located in the City <br /> <br />Mayor Pulido <br /> <br />Stated that he had asked the City Manager to look at ways to better <br />advertise the movie theatres at Main Place <br /> <br /> 8:18 P.M. <br />ADJOURNMENT - In memory of Gertrude Walker - To Tuesday February 20, 2001 at <br /> 5:30 p.m. to the Police Chief's Conference Room, 60 Civic Center <br /> Plaza, 4th Floor, Santa Ana, California <br /> <br />Patricia E.
