Award a contract to Robert B. Castognia, Inc., the lowest responsible <br />bidder, in accordance with unit bid prices in the estimated amount of <br />$1,244,477 for construction of Valley Adams Neighborhood Water Main <br />Improvements. <br /> <br />2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost <br />of $1,585,000. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />This project provides for the replacement of deteriorated and undersized <br />water facilities in the Valley Adams neighborhood (Exhibit 1) and <br />includes the installation of new water mains, fire hydrants, main gate <br />valves, and water service assembles. Once completed, water main breaks <br />and leaks associated with the older water mains will be eliminated. In <br />addition, water service capacity and fire protection to the areas served <br />by the new water mains will be enhanced. <br /> <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on February, 30 and 31, 2007, and <br />bids were opened on April 26, 2007.
