Award a contract to J.A. Salazar Construction & Supply Corporation, <br />the lowest responsible bidder, in accordance with unit bid prices in <br />the estimated amount of $2,283,520 for construction of Mid City <br />Neighborhood Water Main and McFadden Avenue Sewer Improvements. <br />2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost <br />of $2,855,200. <br />This project provides for the replacement of deteriorated and undersized <br />water facilities in the Mid City Neighborhood (Exhibit 1). These <br />improvements include new water mains, fire hydrants, main gate valves, <br />and water services. Once completed, water main breaks and leaks <br />associated with the older, deteriorated water mains will be eliminated. <br />In addition, water service capacity and fire protection to the areas <br />served by the new water mains will be enhanced. <br />This project also includes the replacement of deteriorated and undersized <br />sewer mains along McFadden Avenue from Bristol to Shelton Streets and <br />Shelton Street from McFadden Avenue to Cubbon Street (Exhibit 1). This <br />project will provide for installation of sewer mains, laterals, manholes, <br />and cleanouts. Once completed, the capacity of the sewer system will be <br />increased and the maintenance problems associated with older and <br />deteriorated sewer mains will be eliminated. <br />23A-1 <br />
