90.A. <br /> <br />90.B. <br /> <br />COMMENTS <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Mike Brambilla announced that a group from California State University at <br />Fullerton was sponsoring a food drive for the Southwest Community <br />Center on Saturday, November 10, 2001. <br /> <br />Frank Robinson spoke in support of a variance request which was not on <br />the agenda for November 5, 2001. Mayor Pro Tem McGuigan requested <br />that he work with staff relative to his request. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Alvarez <br />· Noted that she and Councilman Solorio were approaching the one year <br /> anniversary of their election to the City Council and thanked the <br /> Council and staff for all their support in the last year. <br />· Congratulated Planning Commissioner Christopher Leo on the birth of <br /> his baby daughter <br />· Wished everyone a Happy Thanksgiving holiday <br /> <br />Councilmember Christy <br />· Congratulated organizers of the "Day of the Dead" celebration on <br /> Saturday, November 3, 2001 <br />· Congratulated Santa Ana College for its recent accreditation rating of <br /> A+, and the special citations for institutional integrity, learning <br /> resources, curriculum, safety, community relations, student policies <br /> and planning <br />· Thanked Pastor Bob Orr of the First Baptist Church of Santa Ana for <br /> opening church doors on Halloween for over 500 neighborhood <br /> children for entertainment and fun <br /> Wished the Marine Corps Happy Birthday on November 10, 2001 <br /> Noted that over seventy-five individuals attended the diversity forum <br /> held in the Police Community Room <br /> <br />Councilmember Bist <br />· Noted that since some businesses and restaurants in the South Coast <br /> Metro area are not listing Santa Ana addresses, the City should <br /> proactively place a sign identifying this area as Santa Ana on the <br /> median on Plaza Drive off Sunflower <br />· Wished everyone a Happy Thanksgiving <br /> <br />Councilmember Solorio <br />· Also wished Councilmember Alvarez a happy anniversary <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 407 NOVEMBER 5, 2001 <br /> <br /> <br />
