· Noted that the Family Resource Center on Minnie Street would be <br /> having a grand opening on November 16, 2001 at Kennedy <br /> Elementary School, and thanked the companies that trained residents <br /> to make the improvements at the center <br />· Announced that the Orange County Business Journal recently <br /> recognized many businesses in Ward 1 in the list of fastest growing <br /> companies in Orange County, including, Starbase Corp. Micro <br /> General Corp, Powerware Technologies Inc. , Troy Group Inc. ,and <br /> First American Corp <br />· Announced that as part of the Delhi improvements, a partnership <br /> comprised of Home Depot, Recreation and Parks and Monroe <br /> Elementary were offered a Kaboom Grant to build new playground <br /> equipment <br />· Announced that the new development at McFadden and Main has been <br /> very successful and Dominos Restaurant recently received an award <br /> for National Sales Excellence <br />· Wished residents a Happy Thanksgiving <br /> <br />Councilmember Franklin <br />· Reminded residents that an illumination ceremony at the County <br /> Courthouse would be held at 7:30 P.M. on November 14, 2001, and <br /> thanked the Board of Supervisors for their support of this project <br />· Noted that Santa Ana Police Captain Dan McCoy was spearheading a <br /> drive to construct an A-4 Skyhawk airplane permanent memorial to the <br /> Marine Corps, and that any business or resident wishing to contribute <br /> to this project should contact the Santa Aha Police Department <br />· Stated that Santa Ana has in the past hosted marines from Camp <br /> Pendleton to use sites in the City for practice exercises and that these <br /> exercises have helped to contribute to the country's preparedness <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem McGuigan <br />· Recognized the Boys and Girls Club for a successful event on <br /> November 3, 2001 <br />· Welcomed the Sweet Life Company to Santa Ana from Irvine <br />· Reminded residents that November was recycling month <br />· Noted that the City would be celebrating two upcoming holidays, <br /> Veterans Day and Thanksgiving <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT - 9:40 P.M.
