SCOPE OF WORK <br />TASK 1. CATEGORIZATIONS <br />1.1 Windshield Survey and Database. Perform a windshield survey to identify potential historic resources <br />for nomination to the Santa Ana Register of Historical Properties in each neighborhood identified on <br />the Citywide Historic Survey Map and selected by City Staff for survey efforts during the FY <br />2007/2008. Based on the architectural and historical character of each potential Register property, <br />Consultant will make a preliminary categorization of Landmark, Key or Contributive. For each <br />potential Register site, one to three (I to 3) digital photographs will generally be taken. The <br />photographs will be submitted to the City for use in neighborhood outreach meetings and other <br />purposes. It is assumed that the windshield survey will be conducted by Leslie Heumann, assisted by <br />another Sapphos team member as needed. It is also assumed that a base map and comprehensive <br />database of addresses for each neighborhood will be provided by the City. The time required to <br />complete the fieldwork for this subtask will depend upon the size and age of each neighborhood, and <br />is estimated at eight (8) to sixteen (16) consultant hours per area. <br />Deliverable <br />• Memorandum far the Record identifying potential Register properties with <br />preliminarycategorizations in each of the neighborhood survey areas <br />• Digilal photographs of potential landmark and key properties, and a selection of contributive <br />properties <br />1.2 DPR Forms. Prepare Santa Ana Register templates (i.e., the Executive Summary" and the State of <br />California "Primary Record" and "Building, Structure and Object Record" for an average of five (5) <br />properties per neighborhood. The City may also request templates for self -nominated properties, and <br />other properties outside of the neighborhood. The maximum number of templates completed on a <br />monthly basis will vary, but will generally not exceed six (6). The following subtasks will be <br />undertaken for each property: <br />1.2.a. Visit and digitally photograph site (.25 hours per site). <br />1.2.b. Provide preliminary categorization to City staff (.25 hours per site). <br />Deliverable: Preliminary categorization list. <br />1.2.c. Conduct neighborhood and site -specific research using one or more of the following <br />sources: existing documentation such as survey forms, National Register forms, and tour <br />brochures, building permits, Santa Ana History Room or other library collections, <br />Internet (I to 3 hours per site). <br />1.2.d. Create and write draft template for each property placed on the Historic Resources <br />Commission agenda, and submit the draft templates to City for review and comment (2.5 <br />hours per site). <br />Deliverable: Droll template <br />1.2.e. Perform additional research per Template Committee (.5 hours per site). <br />1.2.f. Revise template per Template Committee (.5 hours per site). <br />Deliverable: Final template (subtotal 1 hour per site, grand total of 5.0 hours per site). <br />The following additional assumptions apply to this task: <br />
