Benchmark Technical Specialties <br />Telecommunications Services Cateaory <br />Cabling Installer <br />Duties <br />Education /Certification <br />Work Experience /Skills /Knowledge /Abilities <br />Other <br />• Installs voice, video, data, audio and alarm cabling <br />systems consisting of fiber optic and copper cabling. <br />• Will install, test, tone and tag cables as per EIA/TIA, <br />BICSI, SYSTIMAX, and NEC standards and <br />requirements. <br />• May require some work during off - hours. <br />SYSTIMAX structured cabling system installer <br />Certification required. <br />• Minimum of 2 years of hands -on work experience. <br />• Knowledge of EIA/TIA, BICSI, SYSTIMAX, and NEC <br />standards a must. <br />• Prior PBX and IAN system cabling experience <br />desirable. <br />• Must know and understand SYSTIMAX Category 5e <br />and 6 cable standards and be able to adhere to the <br />standards with work practices. <br />• Ability to document completed assignments. <br />• Ability to work safely. <br />• Ability to interact in a team environment with <br />network engineering and with customers. <br />• Must have a valid Class C Driver's license. <br />• Manual dexterity to manipulate tools, and test <br />equipment, electronic devices. <br />• Ability to climb ladders in awkward positions. <br />• Ability to work in closed spaces under abnormal <br />environmental conditions. <br />• Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 80 <br />pounds. <br />• Ability to read printed documentation and <br />computerized test devices. <br />• Ability to recognize and respond to alarm sounds and <br />equipment generated signals. <br />• May have to undergo background investigation by <br />Santa Ana Police Department. <br />
