REPORTS
A. Incident Reports
All incidents, either major or minor that occur on The Depot property must be reported to the Post
Commander and on an Incident Report. This includes thefts, arrests, tow away, accidents, safety
violations, police activity, medical activity and any other situations. All Incident Reports will be submitted
to the Post Commander daily for review and signature. Call your Post Commander on all incidents.
B. Daily Activity Reports (D.A.R)
A D.A.R. is to be written by each officer for each and every shift worked. An hour -by -hour report of activities is
necessary. One - sentence entries are not acceptable. A professional D.A.R. will report on train and bus activity, lost
and found, questions to suspicious individuals, or any other observation that indicates your alertness. An "all
secure /nothing to report", is acceptable only if there is nothing to report.
MISCELLANEOUS
A. Chain Of Command
1. The Depot Post Commander is the point of contact for all security business conducted at The
Depot at Santa Ana. Any and all questions, comments, problems, etc. must be directed through the Post
Commander. Failure to adhere to this mandate will result in expulsion of the security company from the
facility or removal of Security Officer from this post.
2. Any company personnel must communicate with Post Commander, not the Security Guard. If the
company requires the attention of the Security Officer serving at The Depot they must take it through the
Post Commander. Any information the company needs to dispense to The Depot at Santa Ana will go
through the Post Commander who will then report to Depot Manager.
B. Shift Changes
Security Officers will work full shifts. No Exceptions.
No officer will leave before his /her appointed off -duty time and /or a relief officer arrives to cover next shift.
Post must never be left unattended.
C. Unauthorized Personnel
Relatives or family members are not permitted to visit the Security Officer while on duty. If there is a
desire to see the facility it must be done on off -duty time and out of uniform
D. Total Cooperation
1. As representative for the City of Santa Ana, officers are expected to conduct themselves in a
courteous and professional manner at all times. This includes any interaction with other contractors doing
work at The Depot.
2. Officers are to be clean and dressed in a complete, spot free uniform. Clean, polished black
shoes are required. Activities at the Depot address a great deal of public relations work, so a
professional appearance is an integral part of the post.
E. Radio Etiquette
Radio conversations are monitored. All officers are expected to know radio codes, and other methods of
communications as authorized by the FCC. This device must be operated in a professional manner.
16
