FOLLOWED BY THE HOUSING AUTHORITY AT 7:32 P.M. <br /> <br />COUNCIL RECONVENED AT 7:32 WITH THE SAME COUNCILMEMBERS <br />PRESENT <br /> <br />COMMENTS <br /> <br />90.A. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />There were no public comments <br /> <br />90.B. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Alvarez: <br /> · Reminded residents that the Festival del Mariachi in honor of <br /> Mothers is scheduled for Saturday, May 5, 2002 from 5:00 p.m. to <br /> 9:00 p.m. at the Santa Ana Stadium, and encouraged all residents <br /> to attend this special event <br /> · Announced that there would be a celebrity softball game held at the <br /> women's softball field at California State University, Fullerton on <br /> May 11th at 12:00 p.m. and the proceeds would benefit the 2002 <br /> Police and Fire Games to be held June 16-22,2002 <br /> <br />Councilmember Christy: <br /> · Asked Jon Ribble, Executive Director, Parks, Recreation and <br /> Community Services Agency to give an update on the safety of <br /> Santa Ana Parks in view of recent alarming incidents {nails, razor <br /> blades, etc) at parks in surrounding cities. Mr. Ribble informed the <br /> Council and public that precautionary measures have been taken to <br /> insure that the sand lots in all city parks are raked each morning <br /> and rechecked in the afternoon.
