<br />Benchmark Technical S ecialties <br />Applications & Development Services Category <br /> <br />Database Administrator - Oracle <br /> <br />Duties . Create, configure, manage and monitor Oracle 8i.xf9i.x <br />databases. <br />. Manage memory structures, storage, fragmentation, and <br />system resources. <br />. Ability to perform both Oracle and operating system <br />performance tuning and monitoring. <br />. Maintain Oracle database security, control and <br />administer user access, privileges and resources to <br />ensure data integrity. <br />. Perform database backup and recovery. <br />. Perform replication of production database into test <br />environments. <br />. Configure Windows 2000+ environment and directory <br />structure for an Oracle database and development tools. <br />. Use Oracle database management tools to monitor and <br />maintain production and test environments. <br />. Work as part of team to provide off-hours support as <br />required. <br />. Perform trouble shooting and fix operational problems. <br /> <br />Education/Certification . Formai course work in Oracle preferred. <br />. Preferably a BS in computer science or related <br />engineering fieid. <br /> <br />Work Experience/Skills/Knowledge/Abilities . Minimum 6 years hands-on RDMS work including 3 <br />years with Oracle database and tools. <br />. Experience with Oracle Database v8i.xJ9i.x a must. <br />. Knowiedge of Oracle SOL Developer (or like tool, i.e. <br />TOAD, SOL Navigator), Oracle SOL'DBA and Oracle <br />SOL 'Net. <br />. Must have ability to develop scripts and perform general <br />system maintenance tasks. <br />. Knowledge of all Oracle backup and recovery scenarios, <br />including knowledge and experience with RMAN. <br />. Experience in Oracle/OS performance tuning. <br />. Thorough knowledge of physical database design. <br />. Knowledge of DBMS theory and practice is essential. <br /> <br />Other . Minimum 15 Net WPM. <br />. Must have a valid Class C Driver's license. <br />. Manual dexterity to manipulate electronic devices, <br />computers and keyboards. <br />. Ability to read printed documentation and computer <br />screens. <br />. Ability to recognize and respond to alarm sounds and <br />equipment generated signals. <br />. May have to undergo background investigation by Santa <br />Ana Police Department. <br />
