<br />Zone contains an entry/exit corridor between the Exclusion Zone and the Support Zone. <br />A log is maintained of personnel entering the Exclusion Zone. <br />Decontamination. The removal of hazardous substances from persons and equipment to preclude <br />foreseeable adverse health effects. <br />Exclusion Zone. A field area established in the Site Safety Plan and recorded on the site maps that <br />contains all areas of exposed contaminated material. The Exclusion Zone has identified <br />entry and exit ports. A log is maintained of personnel entering the Exclusion Zone. <br />Safety and Industrial Hygiene Technician. The individual located onsite who is responsible to the <br />District Operations Manager and the Corporate Safety and Industrial Hygiene Director <br />and who has the authority and knowledge necessary to implement the site safety and <br />health plan and verify compliance with applicable safety and health requirements. <br />Support Zone. A field area established in the Site Safety Plan and recorded on the site maps that is <br />used for the support of field activities, the storage of supplies, the receiving of materials, <br />etc. Neither HAZWOPER training nor special personal protective equipment is needed <br />in the Support Zone. <br />V. Responsibilities: <br /> <br />A. Corporate Safety and Industrial Hygiene Director. The Corporate Safety and Industrial <br />Hygiene Director is responsible for the approval of Site Safety Plans. The specifics for <br />Site Control at each field project are included in the Site Safety Plan. <br /> <br />B. District Operations Managers. District Operations Managers are responsible for: <br /> <br />I. Assuring that appropriate permits have been obtained for work performed. <br />2. Establishing reasonable work zones with the project team for inclusion in the <br />Site Safety Plan. <br />3. Enforcing the sign-in/sign-out log for entrants into the Contamination Reduction <br />Zone and the Exclusion Zone. <br /> <br />C. Safety and Industrial Hygiene Technician. The Safety and Industrial Hygiene <br />Technicians is responsible for: <br /> <br />I. Implementing zone identification measures in the field. <br />2. Updating work zone maps, as needed. <br />3. Maintaining the sign in/sign out log for the Contamination Reduction Zone and <br />Exclusion Zone. <br />4. Assuring operable condition of the communication systems in use at the <br />assigned project. <br />5. Assuring decontamination of personnel and equipment leaving controlled areas. <br /> <br />D. AMX Employees. AMX employees are responsible for complying with all site control <br />measures, in particular: <br /> <br />1. Allowing only authorized personnel on AMX sites. <br />2. Signing in and out at Contamination Reduction Zones and Exclusion Zones. <br />3. Using the Buddy System during field activities. <br />4. Using safe work practices to reduce and contain contamination. <br />5. Decontaminating equipment while removing it through the Contamination <br />Reduction Zone. <br />6. Performing the specified level of personal decontamination upon exit from the <br />Contamination Reduction Zone and/or the Exclusion Zone. <br /> <br />VI. Procedures: <br /> <br />A. Fundamental requirements for site access are: <br /> <br />I. Current HAZWOPER training. <br />2. AMX Safety Orientation. <br />3. Initial Site Safety Plan Briefing. <br />
