<br />COMMENTS <br /> <br />90A PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Steve McGuigan, Stanley Fiala, and Alex Vega addressed the Council <br />relative to matters under the general jurisdiction of the Council. <br /> <br />Cesar Reyes and James Johnson asked the Council to adopt a resolution <br />supporting SB1 related to allowing undocumented students to apply for <br />community college fee waivers eligible for the Cal Grant which can be <br />applied at California colleges and universities. <br /> <br />David Mohler expressed concerns relative to a property on Parton Street <br />which has a bee problem which the owner refuses to address <br /> <br />90.B. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Sarmiento <br />. Thanked everyone who attended and participated in the Fiestas <br />Patrias in Santa Ana on the weekend of September 15-161h and <br />thanked the Police Department for effectively controlling the large <br />crowd which attended the events <br />. Noted that he has received several e-mails related to the Twist-Bassler <br />House and asked staff to implement measures to prevent deterioration <br />during the rainy season <br />. Commended staff for proactively reviewing the impact the sub-prime <br />loans have had on the community and notifying the impacted residents <br />of the options available to them <br /> <br />Councilmember Martinez <br />. Thanked all the residents who attended the Fiestas Patrias Festival <br />and parade and noted that these were both great events <br />. Emphasized the importance of educating residents impacted by sub- <br />prime lending of the options available to them <br />. Noted that she was hosting a town hall meeting on September 19th <br /> <br />Councilmember Bustamante <br />. Thanked everyone who helped make the Fiestas Patrias successful <br />. Thanked staff and the City Council for the support given to his family <br />relative to the death of his father-in-law <br />.
