Approval of the Police Chief. <br /> <br />6.9 Career Development Proqram - Non-Sworn. Effective the first <br />day of the first full month following Council approval of this <br />Agreement, an incumbent in one of the classes designated as <br />"non-sworn" covered by this Agreement shall earn an additional <br />amount as follows: <br /> <br />A. Upon attainment of an Associate in Arts Degree and five <br />(5) years' experience with the City of Santa Ana, said <br />employee will be paid at a rate set five (5) salary rate <br />ranges (approximately 2.5%) above his or her then current <br />base monthly salary step. <br /> <br />B. Upon attainment of a Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree <br />and with five (5) years' experience with the City of <br />Santa Ana, said employee will be paid at a rate set an <br />additional (5) salary rate ranges (approximately 2.5%) <br />for a total of 10 salary rate ranges (approximately 5%) <br />above his or her then current base monthly salary step. <br />If said employee obtains a Bachelor I s Degree without <br />attaining an Associate in Arts Degree, he or she will be <br />paid at a rate set ten (10) salary rate ranges <br />(approximately 5%) above his or her then current base <br />monthly salary step. <br /> <br />23 <br />
