<br />attendance at conventions, conferences, or seminars for <br />the duration of the day, or the like, held outside the <br />City limits, in lieu of an employee I s regularly scheduled <br />10-hour shift, will count as 10 hours worked, including <br />travel time. Training held within the City limits for <br />less than eight (8) hours or outside the City will be <br />accounted for on an hour-to-hour basis, except employees <br />attending training outside the City limits may be <br />eligible for two (2) hours of travel time. Employees <br />at tending training of less than eight (8) hours will <br />return to their duty assignments or, with the approval of <br />their immediate supervisor, take time off from their time <br />bank. <br /> <br />8.12 Call-Back-Duty. Any employee covered by this Agreement who is <br />recalled to active duty from off-duty, shall be entitled to <br />overtime pay at the rate of one and one-half (1 1/2) times the <br />regular rate of pay for such employee for time actually worked <br />from the time that the employee is recalled until the employee <br />is released to return home or his next work day commences or <br />two (2) hours pay at the regular rate of pay, whichever is <br />greater. If such call back is at the employee1s discretion, <br />then only time worked shall be compensated. <br /> <br />8.13 Accrued Overtime Paid Upon Promotions or Upon Se~aration. <br />Upon an employee's appointment to a position in which overtime <br />may not be earned or upon an employee's separation from <br />employment with the City by resignation, retirement, layoff or <br />otherwise, he or she shall forthwith be compensated for any <br />overtime accumulated to the time immediately preceding such <br />promotion or separation. <br /> <br />8.14 Court A-ppearance. Compensation for court appearance by <br />personnel covered by this Agreement shall be as follows: <br /> <br />A. For each required court appearance made by an employee <br />during his or her off-duty time in regard to City <br />business, employees shall be paid overtime for the period <br />of time from their arrival at court until they are <br />released from court or the court session closes for that <br />day. However, in no case, shall an employee receive less <br />than two (2) hours overtime for a court appearance. If <br />court appearances are made both in the morning and <br />afternoon of a particular day, two (2) hours overtime <br />will be allowed for each session attended. If the <br />employee is not released and must remain available for <br />afternoon court, the employee shall be paid overtime for <br />all hours the court is in session that day. <br /> <br />30 <br />
