<br />ARTICLE X <br /> <br />10.0 VACATION <br /> <br />10.1 Purpose. It is the policy of the City to grant employees <br />vacation leave in order to provide them with a break in their <br />regular work schedule, and this purpose will be used as a <br />guide in the administration of the provisions of this Article. <br /> <br />10.2 Reqular Vacation Period. <br /> <br />A. Full time employees shall be granted regular vacation at <br />the rate of 80 hours for each of his or her first and <br />second completed year of service, accrued on a monthly <br />basis at the rate of 6 2/3 hours for each completed month <br />of service. Thereafter, all such employees shall be <br />granted regular vacation at the rate of 120 hours for <br />each completed year of service, accrued at the rate of 10 <br />hours for each completed month of service. <br /> <br />B. An employee who has completed less than one year's <br />service during the calendar year shall receive a <br />proportionate fraction in accordance with the amount of <br />service to his or her credit during the yearj provided, <br />however, no employee shall be entitled to, or receive <br />payment for, any vacation until he or she has completed <br />six (6) months of continuous service. <br /> <br />C. On or after the first (1st) day of the month following <br />completion of six (6) months of continuous full-time <br />service, an employee may be allowed to take all or a <br />proportionate fraction of his or her earned vacation, <br />subject to scheduling approval of the employeels <br />supervisor. <br /> <br />D. Absence on sick leave for a period in excess of fifteen <br />(15) consecutive calendar days shall not be considered as <br />service for vacation accrual purposes. <br /> <br />E. Computation of Regular Vacation: <br /> <br />1. In computing regular vacation, each municipal <br />holiday that occurs during the vacation, and that <br />falls on a day which the employee would have worked <br />had he or she not been on vacation, shall be <br />deducted from the computation so that ten (10) <br />additional hours of regular vacation shall be <br /> <br />35 <br />
