<br />Program Description <br />Describe the overall services that will be made available to the WIA participant. <br /> <br />Occupational Training (Introductory level mandatory) is 8-weeks per each 2-hour <br />course level (Introductory. Intermediate. Advanced Levels) in music technology <br />software and digital recording techniques. Subjects include History of Music past and <br />present, music theory, copyright and publishing fundamentals, music business <br />essentials, and intense classes in music technology utilizing Reason and Pro Tools <br />software. <br /> <br />Adult Mentoring (mandatory) is a minimum of I2-months from date of enrollment <br />through the end of the program. Utilizing RYTMO's own mentoring curriculum, <br />students will learn about Character development. Leadership Development Academic <br />Success. and eareer Exploration. <br /> <br />Leadership Development (8-weeks), for students who have been identified as <br />potential leaders. As part of the mentoring curriculum, these students will undergo <br />specific classes that will assist their leadership skills and growth. Many of these <br />potential leaders will also be required to assist or provide peer support to other <br />beginning participants in the program. <br /> <br />Work Experience/internships (paid and unpaid, are ongoing). Here, students who <br />have successfully completed intermediate or advanced levels of occupational training <br />will receive support in job and internship exploration for potential opportunities related <br />to the music technology fields. Additional support through resume writing, proper <br />interview strategies, and verbal communication skills are also explored and monitored <br />through case management. <br /> <br />Tutoring: This is a new component to be added to the RYTMO roster of services for <br />2007-2008. The tutoring will enable students who are basic skills deficient to receive <br />numeric/literacy support. The schedule will revolve around the school year, or as <br />appropriate for students who are working towards earning their GED or high school <br />diploma, and who have low T ABE test scores, especially out of school older youth and <br />foster and disabled youth. <br />RYTMO will utilize key volunteers to provide tutoring I-hour before each level of <br />general class time. and will focus on students who need to increase reading and numeric <br />skill levels. <br />
