<br />Orange County Conservation Corps <br />Santa Ana Workforce Investment Board <br />Request for Proposal <br />The Youth Service Provider Network <br />PY 2007/2008 <br /> <br />participant's Teacher at least once a month to review and discuss participant's <br />academic performance. If participant is found to be basic skill deficient and involved in <br />ongoing tutoring sessions, the Program Specialist will meet with the tutor monthly to <br />identify the participant's progress towards improving their basic skill levels. For <br />participants who are high school graduates and enrolled into the OCCC transition class, <br />Program Specialist will monitor that participant is making progress towards completing <br />all required components to the OCCC transition class. <br /> <br />For participants that are lacking in any of the above components Program Specialist <br />and the appropriate staff will meet to discuss and strategize a plan to help participant <br />succeed. To motivate and encourage participants to complete various components. to <br />the OCCC program, the OCCC will use incentives, the OCCC bonus plan, monthly merit <br />raises, promotions, and quarterly recognition events. The following policies have been <br />implemented for program year 2007-2008 as tools in the management of performance: <br /> <br />Incentive Procedures: <br />ELIGIBILITY: <br />1. To request and receive incentives, an individual must be WIA eligible and <br />actively enrolled with the Orange County Conservation Corps (OCCC). <br />2. As it is with all WIA services, incentive is not an entitlement. <br /> <br />AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS: <br />1. Incentives are delivered contingent upon availability of funds and given on <br />a first come, first serve basis. <br />2. Incentives should not exceed a value of $40.00 per completed component. <br />Participant will have the option of choosing from one of the following: <br />AMC theatre gift card, Chili's restaurant gift card, or a Wal-MartfTarget gift <br />card. <br /> <br />Incentives <br />1. Toastmasters Speeches - Must complete three toastmaster speeches. One time <br />incentive only. <br />2. NAJAA Meetings - Must attend four meetings at the OCCC. One time incentive <br />only <br />3. Skills Tutor - Participants whom have not passed the California High School Exit <br />Exam (CASHEE) must complete a total of 4 hours of skills tutoring per month. If <br />participant has completed all required credits and is only pending the CASHEE, <br />participant must complete a total of 8 hours per month. One time incentive only. <br />4. 9th Grade Skill Level - Iffound basic skill deficient during initial TABE assessment <br />participant must increase reading and math to a 9th grade level on TABE test. <br />One time incentive only. <br />5. Read Book - Must read a 100 page book with progress being monitored by <br />participant's Teacher or Case Manager. Some exceptions may be made for <br />books less than a 100 pages such as the Ed De Jesus workbook "Makin It", etc. <br />One time incentive only. <br /> <br />Page 12 of 23 <br />
