They do not have an Orange County <br />office or assignment desk, but from a regional perspective, can <br />serve as a strong advocate from the editorial side and have an <br />impact on local Latino stakeholders and elected officials. <br />· The Nguoi Viet News is extensively read and is a "must" in <br />outreaching to the city's Vietnamese community. The N guoi <br />Viet News can be utilized to distribute information, for the <br />placement of stories, and to buy inexpensive ad space. Verches <br />Associates has worked with its editor and the staff in developing <br />content and ad placement. <br /> <br />2. Other individuals or groups of individuals that serve as key stakeholders <br />or represent key stakeholder agencies, businesses, or organizations in <br />Santa Ana and the surrounding area. <br />There are a substantial number of key individuals and organizations <br />that possess a sphere of influence in the City of Santa Ana. The city <br />may already have a strong relationship with many of these key <br />stakeholders but the additional relationship with Verches Associates <br />can be of substantial benefit given the impacts of the project and the <br />value added that needs to be achieved; -Communications and consensus <br />building channeled through existing - relationships often tend to flow <br />more efficiently and expediently. Those identified in this section are <br />significant but only a partial list of key stakeholders that can be <br />directly accessed should there be a problem, issue, or concern that needs <br />immediate attention. <br /> <br />· County of Orange PublicW orks Agency <br />Verches Associates has worked with Ignacio Ochoa, Director of <br />Public Works and his office on other projects in the county. Mr. <br />Ochoa and his office can he of great benefit to the project should <br />there be issues related to other public works projects or related <br />work in the area. <br />· Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) <br />The Santa Ana street improvement project is focused on the <br />residential streets in Santa Ana, but it may have some impact <br />on bus routes and other commuter services. Mr. Paul Taylor, <br />deputy CEO, served as a transportation consultant prior to <br />working for OCT A, and worked with Verches Associates on a <br />number of transportation projects throughout Southern <br />California. Mr. Taylor and OCTA could lend strong support to <br />the project and be of significant assistance should there be an <br />issue concerning their system or rider-ship. <br /> <br />
