<br />2 <br /> <br />4. UPDATE ON TOWNSEND AND BISHOP PROJECTS <br />Pete Jensen updated the Committee on the progress the task force is <br />making in the Townsend area with the analysis almost completed. The <br />data will be studied by the task force and then the process will be <br />replicated in the Bishop area. It was suggested that the Public Safety <br />Committee walk through the areas as part of the Public Safety meeting at <br />a future time. <br /> <br />5. UNDERAGE DRINKING DRAFT RESOLUTION <br />Paula Coleman presented a draft resolution for the Committee to review in <br />support of reducing underage drinking. The resolution was a less <br />restrictive version than originally submitted by Dan Gleason of CSP. She <br />will em ail the revised resolution to Mr. Gleason for his comments and <br />advise the Committee at the next meeting of any revisions. <br /> <br />6. POLICE DEPARTMENT WEB CAST <br />Public Information Officer Jose Gonzalez reviewed the Web Cast the <br />Police Department is proposing entitled "For the Record." The purpose of <br />the program is to present positive programs for the Police Department and <br />City on the internet that would include police stories, public service <br />announcements, etc. The Committee felt it was a positive outreach to <br />the community and supported the program. <br /> <br />7. POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS ASSESSMENT NEEDS <br />As requested, Steve Critchfield presented an evaluation of all Fire <br />Department facilities that determines their overall condition and adequacy. <br />He presented recommendations for each facility to bring them to Class "A" <br />level. <br /> <br />It was requested that all Police and Fire Department Assessment needs <br />be compiled for presentation to the City Council. <br /> <br />8. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />There were no public comments. <br /> <br />9. COMMITTEE MEMBER COMMENTS <br />Committee Member Tinajero asked about the procedure between Santa <br />Ana Police and school police when Santa Ana police are called to come <br />out to the schools. <br />
