They were selected as the top rated <br />firm during a 2005 selection process from among three firms and were <br />awarded a contract for $200,000 in November 2005. <br />Gillis & Associates has provided exceptional service throughout the <br />contract. They have provided high quality architectural services and <br />responded in a timely manner to all construction coordination issues. <br />Based upon the excellent service provided and the funding deadline, staff <br />recommends that the current agreement with Gillis & Associates be amended <br />by an additional $200,000 for a total of $400,000. The additional <br />contract amount will be used for this project and other City projects as <br />needed. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />In accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act, the <br />recommended action is exempt from further review. Categorical Exemption <br />ER no. 99-126 has been filed for this project. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />The proposed contract amendment will have a limit of $200,000. Funds to <br />pay for the architectural services will be charged to the various <br />projects in the Capital Improvement Program. Funds for the improvements <br />at the Santa Ana Regional Transportation Center are available in the <br />Select Street Construction Fund (account no. 59-551-6631, project no. <br />1821). <br />APPROVED AS TO FUNDS AND ACCOUNTS: <br />1 <br />James G.
