Provide source inspection for concrete and asphalt concrete plant, and <br />inspection for other materials at their source as required by the project <br />specifications. <br /> <br />7. Provide other quality control services as requested by the City. <br /> <br />8. Field reports shall be submitted daily to the City. Submit and distribute typed <br />inspection and testing reports to the City's Public Works Agency and the <br />Planning and Building Agency in accordance with "Green Book" and "UBC" <br />requirements and to other concerned parties within a week after the work is <br />performed. <br /> <br />9. Submit a final report to the City within five working days upon completion of <br />each project. <br /> <br />III. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS <br /> <br />Since some of the city projects will be funded by Federal or State grants, the <br />selected consulting firm must comply with requirements of Caltrans' construction <br />manual and the following: <br /> <br />Certificate of Personnel <br /> <br />· The personnel who will conduct the sampling and testing must be certified. <br />They can be certified by Caltrans' District Materials Engineer, by the National <br />..Institute". Certification, of _Engineering_ Technologies,_or, by_otheLauthority <br />acceptable by the Construction Engineer of the City to be proficient in <br />accepting sampling and testing. The personnel shall possess a current <br />certificate of <br />proficiency. <br /> <br />A copy of each person's certificate must be on file in the office of the <br />Construction Engineer, The certificate shall list the sampling and testing which <br />the individual is authorized to perform. <br /> <br />The laboratory firm must be under the responsible engineering management <br />of a registered professional engineer with experience in inspection and testing <br />of construction materials. This engineer must certify the results of all tests <br />performed by the lab personnel under his/her supervision. <br /> <br />· Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction ("Green Book") is used <br />for all City projects. According to Section 4-1.3.3, the City shall select a testing <br />lab to sample and test materials at locations too distant for the local testing <br />laboratory to conduct testing and sampling. Depending on terms of the <br />contract, the costs may be borne by the contractor, but the contractor shall not <br />- 4 - <br />
