<br />COMMENTS <br /> <br />90A PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Rose Vasquez requested that the City change the days authorizing <br />garage sales in the City; Jackie Deter thanked the City Manager for <br />meeting with the industrial owners on the proposed Renaissance plan and <br />the possibility of overlays; Michael VanderNut and Hector Rivas <br />addressed the Council relative to the La Rouche economic initiative; Sam <br />Romero. Albert Martinez, Marcela Rodriguez, Delores Almaraz, and Mike <br />Tardif raised concerns related to the Renaissance plan; Steve McGuigan <br />announced that there will be an anniversary event at the Santa Ana Zoo <br />on March 1 and 2, 2008; Nelida Yanez, Zavala, and Alex Vega expressed <br />general concerns related to the city. <br /> <br />90.B. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> <br />David Ream, City Manager, presented an update on major projects in the <br />City related to street improvements. <br /> <br />90.C. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Tinaiero <br />. Noted that there have been several positive initiatives in the City <br />related to the City's youth including extended hours in the City's <br />libraries and partnerships formed with the School District as well as <br />increased sports opportunities for the youth <br /> <br />Councilmember Benavides <br />. Congratulated Mayor Pulido for finishing 2nd in his age category at the <br />annual Rubber Boot Race at Santiago Park <br />. Encouraged Santa Ana residents to take advantage of the "free" days <br />at the Discovery Science Center <br />. Noted that the Farmers Market in Santa Ana is closing and asked staff <br />to meet with the Executive Director to examine ways to bring the <br />market back to the downtown <br />. Encouraged all registered voters to vote in the Presidential Primary <br />election <br /> <br />Mavor Pro Tem Alvarez <br />. Noted that there are wonderful things happening in Santa Ana <br />including the commitment to fixing the City's roads <br />.
