Award a contract to Sol Construction, Inc., the lowest responsible <br />bidder, in accordance with unit bid prices in the estimated amount of <br />$236,690 for the Civic Center pedestrian Bridges Renovation project. <br /> <br />2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost <br />of $278,200. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Civic Center pedestrian bridges provide access from the Plaza of the <br />Fountains to the Plaza of the Flags and from the Orange County Courthouse <br />to the Plaza of the Flags (Exhibit 1). This renovation project consists <br />of removing and replacing the existing railing system and tiles, and <br />repairing spalls and cracks. Once completed, the renovations will enhance <br />the safety and visual appearance of the bridges. <br /> <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on January 28 and 30, 2008, and <br />bids were opened on February 19, 2008.
