The approved <br />project limits are from the Santa Ana River in the City of Santa Ana to <br />State Route 22 in the City of Garden Grove {Exhibit 1) The City of Santa <br />Ana is acting as the lead agency. <br />The project consists of improving Fairview Street to major arterial <br />standards which include three general purpose lanes in each direction, a <br />raised 14-foot median and widening the Fairview Street Bridge at the <br />Santa Ana River. Additionally, due to the potential number of residential <br />takings and business displacements, an Environmental Impact Report (EIR)/ <br />Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) will be prepared. The EIR/EIS is <br />required so the option of seeking federal funding for future phases of <br />the project would be available. The project is now 75o complete. <br />On July 22, 1997, staff met with California Department of Transportation <br />(CALTRANS) and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) representatives. <br />.They requested revisions to the original scope of work. As a result, on <br />November 3, 1997, Council authorized an amendment to the agreement with <br />059 - <br />
