City of Santa Ana <br />Scope of Work <br />Name of Organization Achievement Institute of Scientific Studies <br />Name of Funded Program Achievement Institute of Scientific Studies <br />Annual Accomplishment Goal <br />I. Total number of unduplicated clients (Santa Ana and Non -Santa Ana Residents) anticipated to be served by the <br />funded program, named above, during the 12 -month contract period. <br />21 Persons <br />II. Number of ONLY unduplicated Santa Ana residents to be served by the funded program, named above, during the <br />12 -month contract period. <br />21 Persons <br />Program and Funding Description <br />III. Description of Work - In the space below, describe the program to be funded during the 12 -month contract period. <br />What specific activities will be undertaken during the contract period. Please be concise in your response. Only the <br />viewame space win <br />During this quarter our main program begins and ends. We will provide 21 Santa Ana, bright but economically <br />disadvantaged, high school students with the following: <br />-different materials and resources needed for the summer <br />-an $800 stipend to aid in school fees -connections to resources needed to apply to the university of their <br />relating to testing and application fees choice along with application and personal statement aid. <br />-exposure to different college campuses -workshops on how to maximize their use of the their new laptop <br />and resources to find the ONE for them <br />-SAT prep -AP class mentoring and tutoring <br />-exposure to different concepts of -workshops lead by alumni from Johns Hopkins University, UCLA, <br />ettiquette UC Davis, Chapman University and UC Irvine on topics ranging <br />from college applications to specifics on different science related <br />majors. <br />We will meet starting June 23rd, every week five days a week for nine to ten weeks. Each day will consist of an <br />activity relating to the services stated above or will involve an industry, medical, or educational professional having a <br />one-on-one meeting with our scholars. Our scholars will also do research with Dr. Mauzy-Melitz from UCI at UCI <br />laboratories. A portion of the funding from this CDBG block grant will go to funding the transportation to UCI, other <br />higher education institutions, and several different industry sites in Orange County. <br />Schedule of Performace <br />Estimate the number of ONLY unduplicated Santa Ana residents to be served by the funded program during the 12 - <br />month contract period per quarter. (Enter number of new Santa Ana clients served each quarter.
