Our careful workload planning and resource
allocation techniques make us well -suited to staff and successfully undertake assignments to the City's
complete satisfaction.
To complete traffic studies for Environmental documents, we commit resources as needed; we
establish a pragmatic project schedule; we reach key decisions by consensus; we develop realistic
analysis and defensible recommendations; and we deliver quality technical submittals.
TRAFFIC IMPACT ANALYSES (TIA'S)
Kimley-Horn has performed literally thousands of traffic impact analyses (TIA's) across the county and
the state. In addition to preparing 'these studies, we have reviewed TIA's submitted by other
consultants for local jurisdictions. We also have assisted a number of local jurisdictions in developing
traffic study ordinances and report guidelines.
preparation of a TIA involves application of standard data collection and analysis methodologies,
including estimating trip generation and trip distribution, applying regional and city traffic forecasting
models, and evaluating fair -share project contributions to mitigation measures, to fully address how a
development is likely to affect traffic conditions. Different assumptions are applied as applicable to
address the traffic effects of various types .of developments, including residential tracts, mixed -use
development and transit -oriented development, and business complexes.
TRANSPORTATION PLANNING
Established by transportation planning and traffic operations specialists, Kimley-Horn has become a
leading consultant in the planning of regional and statewide transportation systems, corridor studies,
transportation demand management programs, and transportation impact assessments. The firm has
assisted numerous local and state agencies in developing transportation plans and programs for both
short-term and long-range improvements. These and other assignments in transportation planning and
network analysis, economics, urban and regional planning, and engineering design have positioned
Kimley-Hom as both a national and international leader in the constantly evolving transportation field.
2
Copyright 0 2006, rimley-Ham and Associates, Inc.
