Description of Work - In the space below, describe the program to be funded during the 12 -month contract period. <br />What specific activities will be undertaken during the contract period. Only the <br />The WHW Employment Success Program offers a comprehensive employment acquisition program for men and <br />women, which includes: one-on-one help in selecting and obtaining appropriate attire for job interviews and the <br />workplace, (in the clothing component, each client will receive, at no charge, business -appropriate clothing, <br />shoes, hosiery, handbag and, accessories to include hair cut, style and hygiene products. In addition, each client <br />will receive intensive one-on-one image consulting; comprehensive guidance on the importance of dressing for <br />employment success with frequent discussions to confirm increased awareness and knowledge of the necessity of <br />a proper professional appearance at job interviews and in the workplace for career success); resume creation; <br />interview skill building; computer training; financial literacy education, coaching in seeking and keeping a job, and <br />job placement. All of which support the critical needs of an under -served population of families in Orange County. <br />With 70% of the Santa Ana clients served in 2005-06 being single heads of household and 97% qualifying under <br />HUD guidelines as extremely low-income, the barriers to employment they face often seem insurmountable. WH" <br />program services provide the impetus that most of these people need to move to self-sufficiency. Our service is <br />unique and meets an unfilled gap that job seekers need. <br />Schedule of Performace <br />Estimate the number of ONLY unduplicated Santa Ana residents to be served by the funded program during the 12 - <br />month contract period per quarter.
