Only the The WHW Employment Success Program offers a comprehensive employment acquisition program for men and women, which includes: one-on-one help in selecting and obtaining appropriate attire for job interviews and the workplace, (in the clothing component, each client will receive, at no charge, business -appropriate clothing, shoes, hosiery, handbag and, accessories to include hair cut, style and hygiene products. In addition, each client will receive intensive one-on-one image consulting; comprehensive guidance on the importance of dressing for employment success with frequent discussions to confirm increased awareness and knowledge of the necessity of a proper professional appearance at job interviews and in the workplace for career success); resume creation; interview skill building; computer training; financial literacy education, coaching in seeking and keeping a job, and job placement. All of which support the critical needs of an under -served population of families in Orange County. With 70% of the Santa Ana clients served in 2005-06 being single heads of household and 97% qualifying under HUD guidelines as extremely low-income, the barriers to employment they face often seem insurmountable. WH" program services provide the impetus that most of these people need to move to self-sufficiency. Our service is unique and meets an unfilled gap that job seekers need.
