STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS
TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA FOR
ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANTS -TRAFFIC STUDY
planning, documentation, design/study reviews, and milestone checkpoints. Formal quality control and
ergonomic checklists are employed.
Unless totally beyond our control (i.e. natural disaster, City's delay/fault, etc.) KOA will maintain each
project schedule to the best of our ability at no additional costs to the City of Long Beach. If need be we
will utilize personnel from our four other offices within California to produce the necessary work products
j for the City.
® OUR STRENGTH IN SPECIALTY AREAS
KOA Corporation has extensive experience in civil engineering design, traffic engineering and
transportation planning studies in Southern California. We offer a complete range of design services and
specialize in traffic signalization studies, signing and striping and conceptual design projects, capacity/level of
service analysis, environmental impact studies, and traffic impact studies.
PARKING I TRANSPORTATION
Perhaps the most frequently occurring need for traffic engineering services relates to requests and inquiries
to research changes in traffic control for streets or intersections based upon inquiries by residents; City
officials, or other persons. KOA is highly qualified to complete this type of analysis and provide
recommendations that will address relevant conditions, resolve the
inquiry, and result in possible changes in traffic control that will It,
facilitate the goals of the City. These inquiries can range from the j r
need for additional traffic controls at intersections (traffic signals,
multi -way stops) to the need to address traffic or speeding
problems on local streets. Our firm is widely regarded for our
ability to provide solutions to these problems that meet the
approval of the City and its residents, while remaining withintill
accepted guidelines and established budgets. Many of these studies
require the knowledge to assess existing conditions in relation to
! accepted warrants for new traffic controls. Technical knowledge is important; however additional skills in
0J facilitation and the ability to generate unique solutions are equally important to this type of task.
PLANNINGISTlIDIES/REPORTING
KOA has performed transportation -planning studies ranging from traffic impact studies for university
campuses to policy documents for countywide bikeways. We have prepared studies in numerous
jurisdictions throughout Southern California and dealt with the varying requirements for each of those
areas. KOA ensures that all aspects of the planning effort are fully coordinated between team, client and all
relevant regulatory agencies. Where permit acquisition and board approval is a part of the scope of work,
KOA utilities its experience to successfully acquire the required documentation.
KOA CORPORATION
PLANNING & ENGINEERING 6
