In addition, should the flag pole, <br />in the opinion of the Director need painting, then the Contractor shall paint <br />the flag pole with an approved paint up to ten feet (10') above the ground. <br />Should the Director wish to have the pole painted higher than the specified <br />ten feet (10') level he/she may request a proposal from the Contractor. <br /> <br />9) All other painted park amenities, including but not limited to signs, light <br />poles, entry gates, bollards, etc. shall be painted as necessary to assure a <br />high quality appearance. All paint colors and product shall be determined <br />by the Director. <br /> <br />10) Drinking fountains shall be clean, sanitized and unplugged daily. The <br />Contractor shall use approved germicidal cleaner and products to assure <br />that drinking fountains are free of disease, mineral build up, sand and <br />other debris which clogs drains, and that they are polished to the highest <br />quality possible. <br /> <br />11 ) fhe Contractor shall be responsible for daily graffiti removal/over painting <br />of park amenities, inclUding but not limited to picnic benches, park <br />benches, trash receptacles, drinking fountains, poles/posts up to ten feet <br />high (10'), and playground equipment. The Contractor shall also be <br />responsible for removing graffiti from park amenities having a protective <br />)1fElffiti coating and then reapplying an approved graffiti coating. <br /> <br />~) The Contractor shall not be responsible for graffiti removal/over painting of <br />park buildings, park walls, or picnic shelters above the ten foot height <br />(10'). Furthermore, the Contractor shall not be responsible for graffiti <br />removal on natural surfaces (concrete or other masonry surfaces that do <br />not have a graffiti coating). <br /> <br />I. PLA YGROUNDrrOT-LOT AREAS <br /> <br />1) The Contractor shall be responsible for the weekly maintenance of all <br />playground/tot-lot sand and rubberized areas to assure soft and debris free <br />fall zones at all times. Maintenance shall include, but not limited to, <br />loosening of compacted areas, regrading sand areas to level condition, <br />(eliminating ruts, depressions, build up areas, etc. that may lessen the' <br />safety of these areas should a fall occur), sifting of sand to assure that <br />debris and any other foreign objects are removed, removal of weeds and <br />other undesirable materials. Rubberized fall areas shall be cleaned of sand <br />and debris daily being careful to re-use any sand that accumulates on the <br />rubberized surface. <br /> <br />2) The Contractor shall inspect footings weekly to assure that there is a <br />minimum of 10" of sand cover. <br /> <br />3) Playground equipment shall be inspected weekly to assure safe and <br />operable conditions. Should the Contractor discover an unsafe condition <br />he/she shall contact the Director immediately so the City can make the . <br /> <br />25H-34 <br />
