INTERIOR DEMOLITION, INC. <br />ASBESTOS ABATEMENT PLAN JOB <br />#2138 <br />A Electrical Service and HVAC <br />HACLA <br />9800 GRAPE 5T <br />LOS ANGELES, CA 90002 <br />1. The Contractor shall provide temporary lighting sources and ensure safe installation <br />(including ground faulting) of temporary lighting sources and any additional electrical <br />equipment to be used by the Contractor, in compliance with all applicable electrical <br />code requirements and Cal/OSHA requirements for temporary electrical systems. <br />2. The Contractor shall utilize temporary electrical service or generator, ensure safe <br />installing of connections and extensions cords (including ground fault interruption <br />connections), temporary electrical service, and any additional electrical equipment to be <br />used by the Contractor, in compliance with all applicable electrical code requirements <br />and Cal/OSHA requirements for temporary electrical systems. <br />a Decontamination Units <br />1. One (1) decontamination unit shall be required at each asbestos control <br />area. It will comply with the following guidelines: <br />a. Three (3)-stages of decontamination shall be provided, consisting of a <br />clean room, equipment/dirty room, and shower. This area shall be <br />constructed of 6-mm polyethylene sheeting and PVC pipe at a <br />minimum. <br />b. The floor shall be covered where the decontamination unit will be <br />placed with two (2) layers of 6-mm polyethylene prior to set-up of unit. <br />Cr A single entry and exit to each work area shall be provided. <br />d. Each of the three (3) stages shall be separated from each other and <br />the abatement area by a plastic flap constructed 6-mil poly sheeting <br />that allow for the flow of air through the clean room and shower room. <br />2. The Equipment Room shall be of sufficient size for storage of all equipment, <br />disposal facilities for contaminated clothing, and allow for removal of such <br />clothing by employees. <br />3, The Clean Room shall be of adequate size to allow employees to don <br />abatement gear. Storage facilities for street clothing and respirators will be <br />provided. Towels will be available in this area, for use after showering. <br />C. Typical Containment Construction <br />1. All materials shall be delivered in the original packages, containers, or bundles <br />bearing the name of the manufacturer and brand name. <br />2. All materials shall be stored off the ground, away from wet or damp surfaces, <br />and under cover sufficient enough to prevent damage or contamination. <br />Damaged, deteriorating, or previously used materials shall not be used and <br />shall be removed from the work site and disposed of properly. <br />3. The Contractor shall shut down and lock out the HVAC and electrical system <br />for the work area. The Contractor shall provide temporary lighting sourcesand <br />ensure safe installation (including ground faulting) of temporary lighting sources <br />and any additional electrical equipment to be used by the Contractor, in <br />compliance with all applicable electrical code requirements and Cal/OSHA <br />requirements for temporary electrical systems <br />4_ Work areas shall be isolated from non -work areas by installing delineators and <br />caution tape 20' beyond entire building perimeter. <br />5_ Signs shall be posted at the entrance to each work area stating as follows: <br />Page 9 of r? <br />
