Amendment <br />To the City of Santa Ana's 2005 Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) <br />October 22, 2008 <br />This Amendment addresses the Department of Water Resources' (DWR) comments on the City <br />of Santa Ana's 2005 Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) and on the City's initial Draft <br />Amendments to that Plan dated Apri19, 2008 and August 13, 2008. <br />1. Groundwater Identified as Existing or Planned Source <br />a. DWR Comment -Need groundwater management plan. Projected groundwater <br />amounts on table 7 are different from amounts on table 4? <br />b. City of Santa Ana Response -The Orange County Water District (OCWD) is <br />responsible for management of the groundwater basin from which the City pumps a <br />portion of its water supply. Therefore, the City has not prepared its own groundwater <br />management plan. A copy of OCWD's 2004 Groundwater Management Plan can be <br />obtained from their website (http://www.ocwd.com/ assets/ pdfs/2004GWMP.pd1). One <br />copy of that OCWD report will also be provided to DWR in digital form on a CD. <br />c. DWR Response -One digital copy of the groundwater plan sent to Sacramento will be <br />just fine. New data for table 7 will be incorporated into review sheets. <br />2. Planned Water Supply Projects and Programs <br />a. DWR Comment -Are there any future projects for the City of Santa Ana that will <br />increase water supplies? If so need to discuss in detail. <br />b. City of Santa Ana Response -Pages 4-27 and 4-28 of the City's 2005 UWMP discuss <br />future City of Santa Ana projects. The following language is included in this section of <br />the Plan: "The projects that have been identified by the City to improve the City's water <br />supply reliability and enhance the operations of the City's facilities include replacement <br />75A-3 <br />The figures in included in Table 4 in Appendix B are correct. The figures in Table 7 <br />were off by about 100 AF. The correct figures for Table 7 are shown below: <br />
