[WIA Section <br />111(d)(2) and 112{a)] <br />WIA Section 118 requires local plans to be consistent with the State Plan. In addition to <br />California's Principles and Strategic Goals (WIAB99-2, Local Plan Instructions and <br />Forms, page 3), please include strategies that reflect the Governor's four key priorities <br />for California's public workforce system. The key priorities were not included in the <br />lnitial/Supplemental Planning Narrative pages or the One-Year Extension for Program <br />Year 2005-06. They were introduced in the Guidance for Local Plan Modifications for <br />PY 2006-07, via Addendum, item A. They are now listed below as follows: <br />The Governor's four key priorities for California's public workforce system: <br />• Understanding and Meeting the Workforce Needs of Business and Industry in <br />order to prepare Workers for 21st Century Jobs <br />• Targeting Limited Resources to Areas Where They Can Have the Greatest <br />Economic Impact <br />• Collaborating to Improve California's Educational System At All Levels <br />• Ensuring the Accountability of Public and Private Workforce Investments <br />B. Describe how your local vision and workforce development strategy is consistent <br />with the Governor's workforce development priorities. [WIA Section 118(x)] <br />The California Workforce Investment Board (State Board) adopted vision statements <br />regarding business services and lifelong learning that were not included in the WIA <br />lnitial/Supplemental Planning Narrative pages or the One-Year Extension for Program <br />Year 2005-06. They were introduced in Guidance for Local Plan Modifications for PY <br />2006-07, via Addendum, item B.
