All WIA participants will be paid for their "hand -on" job training in the placement site of their <br />choice at OCCTAC programs (e.i., Arts Program, Media Lab, Learning Academy, etc.) Please see <br />Table 3. During this period of time, all WIA participants will receive $8.00 per hour, and <br />encouraged to work up to 10 hours per week. Participants will also be expected to continue the <br />tutoring and other support services they are receiving at the Center while they engage in work <br />experience. <br />During the last 4 months of the program, WIA participants will slowly transition out of work <br />experiences at the center, and into other job interviews and opportunities in the community. <br />During this last period the case manager will work closely with the SAUSD TPP job developer to <br />help find youth a job in the community. Furthermore, OCCTAC will work in collaboration with <br />the Santa Ana Work Center, Parks and Recreation, and other community agencies to find jobs for <br />our youth. In partnership with the Santa Ana College,/ Centennial Education, youth who have not <br />completed their secondary education will also be encouraged to co -enroll in a high school diploma <br />or certification program sponsored by the SAC college. <br />6. Follow-up and Retention: OCCTAC is committed to provide follow-up services to students <br />after they have completed their planned goals, including mentoring, job coaching, and support <br />services to all 15 WIA participants. Follow-up services will include: a) providing job placement <br />and referral to youth, b) providing assistance to students so they can maintain work for at least 6 <br />months through mentorship and support services, c) working in partnership with the employers of <br />WIA graduates to ensure work success, and d) work in collaboration with the SAUSD TPP job <br />developer to help find youth a job in the community. <br />E. Facilities <br />1. Location were Services will be delivered, and 2. Transportation Challenges: Most of the <br />services will be provided at the Main (Broadway) Center. The exception would be when the <br />program requires interaction and support with partnering agencies and employment related <br />opportunities. One example will be at the various SAUSD school sites where we currently run <br />various academy sites. If participants have transportation challenges, we will assist them in <br />finding alternate transportation, such as public transportation, ride -sharing with friends, family or <br />other participants, and Metrolink. Also, participants will be provided with bus passes by <br />OCCTAC or the SAUSD TPP program staff to alleviate transportation challenges. <br />3. Hours of Operation. There have been no incidences of any crimes or disturbances. The parking lot is well -lighted <br />and monitored by the Center's staff. The area is amidst several businesses, including, the Bowers <br />Museum and diverse residential areas. There are SAUSD schools in the vicinity, as well as easy <br />access to public transportation. Students can take the bus or in some instances walk to the Center. <br />11 <br />
