2

6. FAITH-BASED COMMUNITY GANG PREVENTION/INTERVENTION EFFORTS
Pastor Kevin Brown developed a 32 hour course designed to equip the Faith
Community to impact gangs. They have been very successful with 129 parents
attending the parent workshop. They had in-home contact with the parent and
child to assess level of gang, tagging crew and/or drug involvement. Every
Saturday they canvass Willard School area. Their goal is to have more Gang
Intervention workers, better collaboration between churches. They would also
like to get more resources for high-density, low-income complexes, and to
continue working with law enforcement, schools and others in the faith
community.

7. UPDATE ON BISHOP MANOR TASK FORCE ENFORCEMENT
Deputy Chief Harrelson reviewed Phase 1 of the Bishop Manor Project which
culminated in October with multiple arrests. With the removal of the main criminal
element from the complex, the strategy for Phase II is a combination of
continuous visible policing, while developing relationships between the residents,
Bishop Manor HOA, TEAM Property Management, faith based and non-profit
entities.

8.
