REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />APRIL 6, 2009 <br />TITLE: <br />REJECTION OF BIDS FOR <br />MEMORIAL PARK POOL RENOVATION <br />(PROJECT NO. 08-6016-C) <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 1ST Reading <br />^ Ordinance on 2"d Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />MANAGER <br />'RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Reject all bids for the Memorial Park Pool Renovation. <br />DISCUSSION <br />Santa Ana Memorial Park Pool was constructed in 1961 and was last <br />renovated in 1994 (Exhibit 1) Further renovation is necessary at this <br />time to meet health code regulations and reduce maintenance expenses. <br />This project provides for the repair of leaks and the replacement of <br />mechanical equipment, pool plaster, tiles, and underwater lights. Once <br />completed, the renovation will improve the safety and visual appearance <br />of the pool and reduce maintenance costs. <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on February 11, and 13, 2009, <br />and bids were opened on March 4, 2009.
