Contract Award For Civic <br />Center Drainage and <br />Pavement Improvements <br />April 6, 2009 <br />Page 2 <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on February 13 and 18, 2009, and <br />bids were opened on March 5, 2009. A summary of the bid invitations <br />mailed, the bids received, and the bid results follows. <br />Santa Ana Contractors receiving notices: 0 <br />Contractors requesting bidding documents: 7 <br />Bids received: 3 <br />Bids received from Santa Ana Contractors: 0 <br />NAME OF RESPONSIVE BIDDER CITY BID AMOUNT <br />1. Belaire West Landscape, Inc. Buena Park $218,525.00 <br />2. Green Giant Landscape, Inc. La Habra $244,185.00 <br />3. T K Engineering Company Los Angeles $268,137.50 <br />A total of three bids were received and all were responsive. The lowest <br />bid was submitted by Belaire West Landscape Inc., for $218,525, which is <br />below the Engineer's estimate of $285,000. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />In accordance with California Environmental Quality Act, the proposed <br />project is exempt from future review. Categorical Exemption <br />Environmental Review Nos. 2009-32, 2009-33, and 2009-34 will be filed <br />for this project. In addition, a Certification of Categorical Exclusion <br />and Statutory Worksheet have been prepared in accordance with National <br />Environmental Policy Act. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />The funding analysis shows a total estimated construction cost of <br />$273,100 for the project (Exhibit 2). The appropriation adjustment will <br />enhance the Civic Center Maintenance fund revenue (account no. 74-01- <br />5324) and expenditure (account no. 74-243-6631) by $310,000. With <br />approval of the appropriation adjustment, funds are available in Civic <br />Center Maintenance Fund (account no. 74-243-6631). <br />23C-2 <br />
