c. Duplex, Triplex, and Quadplex: Multiple dwelling forms that are <br />architecturally presented as large single-family houses in their typical <br />neighborhood setting. <br />d. Flex Block: A building generally of a single massing element, designed for <br />occupancy by retail, service, or office uses on the ground floor, with upper <br />floors also configured for those uses or for residences. <br />e. House: A structure occupied by a single household that also accommodates <br />commercial and office uses as allowed. <br />f. Hybrid Court: A building that combines the point -access portion of the <br />stacked dwelling building type (double -loaded corridor element) with the <br />walk-up portion of the courtyard housing building type. <br />g_ Lined Block: A building that conceals a public garage or other faceless <br />building that is designed for occupancy by retail, service, or office uses on <br />the ground floor, with upper floors also configured for those uses or for <br />residences. <br />h. Live/Work: An integrated residence and working space, occupied and <br />utilized by a single household in an arrangement of at least 3 such <br />structures or 1 multiple structure with a least 3 units arranged side by side <br />along the primary frontage, that has been designed or structurally modified <br />to accommodate joint residential occupancy and work activity. <br />i. Rowhouse: An individual structure on a parcel with a private rear yard and <br />individual garage accessed from an alley. Such structure shall be developed <br />in an arrangement of at least 3 such structures along the primary frontage. <br />Or, a structure of at least 3 attached townhouse unit types arranged side by <br />side with a private rear yard and individual garage accessed from an alley <br />along the primary frontage. <br />L Stacked Dwellings: A building of single -floor or multi -floor residences of <br />similar configuration either above or below that are stacked. <br />k. Tower -on -Podium: A multi -level building organized around a central core <br />with the first two to five floors expressed as a podium building. <br />I. Tuck -Under Housing: An individual structure on a parcel with no rear yard, <br />where its garage is tucked under the rear of the house and accessed from <br />an alley. Such structure shall be developed with at least four such individual <br />structures, or a structure of at least four attached townhouse units types <br />arranged side by side along the primary frontage. <br />16 Bungalow Court: See 'Building Types' <br />17 Business support service: a commercial establishment that provides <br />services to other businesses including maintenance, repair and service, testing, <br />rental, etc. including the following examples: <br />Ordinance No. NS-XXX <br />Page 29 of 49 <br />
