The following are three examples of housing developments that address the various <br />housing challenges and needs facing the Santa Ana community: <br />Estrella Springs offers permanent supportive housing with services for veterans <br />experiencing homelessness and those living with a mental health diagnosis who earn up <br />to 30% of the area median income <br />(AMI). Previously a Budget Inn motel, <br />this development now provides 89 fully <br />furnished studio apartments. The City <br />of Santa Ana contributed $1.7 million in <br />CDBG funds from HUD, along with a <br />total of 89 project -based vouchers, <br />including 34 HUD-VASH vouchers for <br />veterans experiencing homelessness. <br />Jamboree Housing and Santa Ana <br />hosted a Grand Opening Ceremony on <br />November 13, 2024. <br />Habitat for Humanity of Orange <br />County was awarded $2.2 million in <br />Inclusionary Housing Funds to <br />construct three residential buildings <br />that would provide six affordable for - <br />sale housing units on a vacant lot <br />formerly improved with two duplexes. <br />All six units will contain three <br />bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, <br />and an attached two -car garage. All <br />units will be sold to families who earn <br />up to 80% of the area median income (AMI) <br />ground on the new project. <br />»Above: Picture of the front entrance to Estrella Springs. <br />»Above: Rendering of one of the proposed buildings. <br />On July 27, 2024, Habitat for Humanity broke <br />Washington Santa Ana Housing Partners were issued permits in 2022 to construct a new, <br />four -level, 86-unit affordable residential community with a 1,060-square-foot commercial <br />space, as well as amenities, 120 parking spaces, and landscaping.
