Award a contract to R. J. Noble Company, the lowest responsible <br />bidder, in accordance with unit bid prices in the estimated amount of <br />$593,867.90 for construction of Susan Street Rehabilitation from <br />Sunflower Avenue to MacArthur Boulevard. <br />2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost <br />of $831,380. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The segment of Susan Street from Sunflower Avenue to MacArthur Boulevard <br />has been identified as a high priority on the City's Pavement Management <br />System (Exhibit 1}, The pavement has deteriorated due to weather, age <br />and heavy usage. Some of the adjacent curbs, gutters, and sidewalks are <br />also in various states of disrepair and require replacement. This <br />project provides for construction of new street pavement, replacement of <br />damaged concrete curbs, gutters, sidewalks, cross gutters, driveway <br />approaches and curb ramps. Once completed, these improvements will <br />enhance the ride quality, surface drainage and visual appearance of the <br />street. <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on March 27 and 30, 2009, and <br />bids were opened on April 9, 2009.
